If the Forge profile does not appear, create one and select the Forge version as the version it will run. It should be available in the launcher, under a profile named 'Forge'. jar files (because they can - sorry to give a mini lecture on security stuff that you probably already know, but don't run. Ignore any warnings of "this file type may harm your computer" if they appear - the warning is a generic warning on all. Don't bother with the "Show all Versions" thing. Select the "Installer", not the "Windows Installer" as you aren't running Windows (unless you've installed Windows on your Mac). Get the recommended, if it fails to run with mods then get the latest. There should be 2 versions of Forge once you've selected 1.12.2 - the latest and the recommended. Download Forge for 1.12.2 (if 1.12.2 is not the selected version, find it in the sidebar).When it boots to the title screen, you can quit as no gameplay is needed to download a version. To download it, select it in the versions list and play it once. Make sure you have Minecraft version 1.12 downloaded.(Either way, the result is exactly the same) You can use the Twitch app as described by u/EmeraldWorldLP, or you can use the manual method: Features are not added based on votes or popularity. Don't say "add lions", say "add lions, they spawn in these biomes, have this behaviour, and drop this item."
